Julia Truman is a veteran health care leader and our CEO. PatientVox is the brainchild of our founder. After receiving her MBA, Julia spent years in health care operations, as a Chief Operating Officer and President, leading hospitals and behavioral health care centers. Julia decided to pursue a career as a software engineer after deciding that behavioral health care needed to be transformed. After years of planning, PatientVox was launched in 2021.
Sean Lorenz is a product management leader with 12 years experience taking digital health, IoT, and artificial intelligence products from 0 to 10. He's led PM and cross-functional teams in order to launch customer-centric, UX-focused digital and physical products spanning seed stage startups to public high-tech companies. Sean also applies his PhD in Cognitive & Neural Systems to construct product usage data KPI decision-making, internal metrics dashboards, and AI-driven feature creation.
Raphael graduated from Stanford with a Masters in Computational and Mathematical Engineering, focused on machine learning. He has worked in London as first engineer in two startups where he helped define the research and engineering cultures and took the companies from MVP to commercialised product. One of those startups, Novoic, is using speech as a biomarker for neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. His expertise lies at the intersection between machine learning research and engineering, specifically in Speech and Natural Language Processing (NLP). He has published in top tier conferences (ICML, INTERSPEECH) and clinical journals (Brains communications, Alzheimer's & Dementia), having over 100 citations, and is the author of a widely adopted speech open source processing package.
Oliver has drawn from over a decade of Machine Learning and Software Engineering experiences to become a versatile technical lead of AI projects, overseeing and implementing the many aspects of a data project, from research to production deployment.
He has produced predictive Machine Learning models and pipelines in a variety of industries. On top of a breadth of experience in image recognition, natural language processing, recommendation and other areas of application, he has used Deep Learning and Transfer Learning techniques to good effect in the speech recognition domain.
An attention to robust testing and best software design practices that underpins all of his work was nurtured in the early part of Oliver’s career with roles in the Investment Banking sector at RBS and Goldman Sachs.
Oliver’s academic background is in Mathematics, culminating in a Masters degree at the University of Oxford focusing on algebra, number theory and algorithms. He later served for 5 years as President of the University’s main alumni group for recent graduates and as such served on Oxford’s board of alumni during that time..
With over 20 years of deep and diverse business experience, Sean lends his unique blend of entrepreneurial talent and seasoned analytical expertise to guide healthcare services organizations to improve efficiency, economics, and quality of operations. Sean is the Founder and CEO of Marion Street Capital and he is General Partner at Addvia Ventures
Sean’s healthcare experience is concentrated in behavioral health, where he leads finance and strategic growth initiatives. He is particularly skilled in increasing staffing efficiency, increasing profitability, and improving patient outcomes by incorporating data driven insights into innovative business models. He also successfully sourced capital to execute those healthcare initiatives.
Prior to founding Marion Street Capital, Sean had a successful career in banking, hedge funds, and consulting, having worked at Morgan Stanley, Sailfish Partners, and Navigant Consulting.
Sean volunteers his time for the CFA Society Philadelphia, an organization where he served as President from 2021 to 2022, and he serves on the Board of Directors for the Global Interdependence Center.
Sean earned a Bachelor’s Degree, Business Administration, Finance, from Villanova University and he is a CFA® Charterholder. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D., Finance, from EDHEC Business School, ranked as one of the top business schools in Europe.
Michael Truman is a registered nurse and a designated Mental Health Professional, MHP, by the state of Washington. Michael has more than 20 years of leadership experience. Michael's career in health care has been devoted to caring for those in an emergency, in crisis and in behavioral health care. In 2017, Michael was instrumental in launching a brand new adolescent behavioral healthcare unit. In 2018, 2019 and 2020 Michael devoted his career to clinically supporting vulnerable patients in socioeconomically depressed regions of the US. In 2021 and 2022 Michael led in a brand new, state of the art behavioral health hospital in Washington. Michael is passionate and devoted to improving the standards of care delivered to the most vulnerable patients, those with mental, behavioral, emotional and cognitive needs.
